Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress who is best recognized for her roles in films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She received a B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in the fields of theater, film as well as television. Her acting career began in the theatre. Later, she was a part of several television shows as well as independent and mainstream films. She was known for appearing in the role of Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as on BET's massive The Book of Negroes. The series both received reviews, and she also won a lot of prizes. In 1995 she debuted in the role of Ariel on the stage in The Tempest. She's appeared in Broadway as a part of Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis.
